I medically retired earlier this month (army) and I got some weird email from DFAS about “thank you for your submission to DFAS to ask retired pay” and a work ID number, wtf is this about? Medical retirements don’t receive retirement pay as far as I’m tracking…

If you’re retired, you’re eligible for retirement pay. Many retirees waive all or some of their retirement pay so they can get their VA disability.
