Hi all, I figured if anyone would know that Reddit would. My fiancé tragically committed suicide this last September, only a month after having our son (his first and only). My caco is resubmitting some stuff for dic and sbp because my prior caco messed it up. My question is are parents considered a fiduciary for the child or how does the VA have the parent manage the funds. With social security at the end of the year they make you report what you spend the funds on UNLESS you’re an immediate remaining parent. Does the VA have us report on funding or is it the same as social security? Asking so I can be prepared to set up a spreadsheet. Right now with social security I just use the benefits however my son needs them and I don’t HAVE to keep a receipt for everything. I’m trying to figure out how it all works for VA and if I’m going to need to do reporting and keep receipts etc Ty
