Hello,
I am on 3+ month long orders at a school, in the Army NG. I was told by finance that they cannot accept my lease because I rent a condo that my parents own, and leasing/renting from immediate family members is an automatic disqualification (they don't live with me). Is this true, and do I have any options here?
Thanks.

I believe you should be elegible as long as there is a legitimate paper agreement.

I have never had to provide a lease or any other housing documentation regarding BAH, you’re either entitled to it or not. I know guys that have lived out of a van…
I would ask for them to provide the exact verbiage in whatever manual they are using as reference for denying your BAH.
BAH you should be getting with no hassle. OHA – As long as they don’t live there and they own it for a sole purpose of renting it out. U less there are some NG regulations that differ from RA.
It is not true However. I fought this fight for my son and it truly depends on the approver.
I even brought up the fact the MN national gaurd specifically calls this scenario out.
No dice. We gave up.
