Background: My spouse joined the Navy in 2014 as inactive reserve while in medical school. She then served 1 yr active duty in 2018, followed by 5 years of NADDS. In 2019 the Navy accidentally separated her entirely, which we couldn't resolve until 2023. As of June 2024 she promoted to O4 is active duty again.

Issue: Received 1st LES since returning active duty, and Years of Service is 0. We believe it should be at least 9 years as she joined in 2014. The PS1/admin she spoke to on her ship told her that reserve years do not count toward longevity pay/years of service and even the 1 year of active duty in 2018 doesn't count because of her 'break in service' by doing NADDS.

Everything I've read online says the opposite, and I even noted from an onboarding office hours we were told all of this time would count, regardless of NADDS, active/inactive reserve status.

Does anyone have experience with this that might be able to help figure out a solution? Is there any official document we can show her admin to convince him he is incorrect? Is there another person she can talk to about this? He will not submit a ticket for her.

Her pay entry base date (date that shows on the LES) will be when the first contract was signed in 2014
