I am AD in the Navy. I joined out of Michigan. I just PCS’d to New York and switched my auto insurance over to New York but am I able to keep my POV registered in Michigan?

You can keep your vehicle registered in Michigan. There are some benefits when it comes to renewal though, like filling out a “non-resident affidavit” or similar and not paying taxes on registration, just the fee itself which is usually between $30-$70.
You’ll have to work with the MI dmv if you don’t decide to switch so they can mail your stickers/registration to a non MI address.
