question about getting bas/bah

i will be visiting finance next week, thursday, to get bah/bas since i'm moving out of the dorms. can anyone tell me their experience on how fast it took for that to show on your les/pay? should i expect it to be immediate (as in by the end of the month) or not so immediate (15th sep). tyia
