Well there you go, this one is a slow burn as you will get details in the slowest possible manner as it involves two of the biggest loser orgs in private and government sector.

SpaceX gets shit done, ahead of schedule, below budget , with great results. SpaceX will end up picking up the astronauts on the ISS.
Boeing quality control is going the wrong way.

    2. >A safer solution also on the table is to just fly two spacesuits up with the SpaceX Crew-9 mission

Seems like an incredibly simple problem and solution

      (huff-puff space breathing noises)

      Welcome to the SpaceXStation!

      (huff-puff)

Hello! Hello! Good to be here! (huff-puff) Just in time, too. Where can I plug into oxygen? (huff-puff)

      Here you go. (huff puff)

Umm, this one’s the wrong size. Got another hose? (huff puff)

      Ugh. Oops.

(huff puff, huff puff, huff puff) What do you mean oops?

    4. The hits keep coming with Boeing. It’s time to fire the bean counters and put real engineers back in charge.

Also how does the company that owns literally all the Rockwell IP from the space shuttle mess this up, it’s a path they have literally already walked

    5. Why can’t they just send up 2 spaceX suits for the astronauts? They can deliver food water replacement parts etc to the space station for 25 years but they can’t deliver 2 suits compatible with their rescue vehicle?

    6. lol, op what’re you talking about. Spacex is clearly leading the advancement to rapid space advancement? Go back to gram grams basement.

    7. r/aliens would like to know… why not just teleport them back to earth?

We know you have the technology “NASA”, quit bullshitting.

When does BA just die? So many issues over years and years. They continue to show how poorly run the company is. The complete focus is on getting something done and shipped, risk management is secondary, or risk identification is incredibly lacking. I work with a ton of engineers and holy crap, the amount of thought they put into everything is crazy. It can be done. BA management just refuses to do it and place people at risk. But as the market is pretty regarded at times, calls it is.

Isnt the issue that there are no standards for both organizations to support allowing for inter compatibility? Like perhaps some sort of spacesuit standard for space vehicles would be good? Or did they just go rouge and all build their own anyhow?

Boeing is the first loser org, but who is your second? NASA? That would be a stretch. Or SpaceX? That would be downright deranged…

    11. AntelopeDisastrous27 on

But who has better toys? Boeing, so this will flip yet again as disclosure of exotic tech continues to drip

    12. The whole thing is ridiculous.

I saw a documentary about an astronaut who was trapped in space when there was some damage due to some satellites breaking up.

She made it back in a 30 year old capsule and was fine.

I may have some of the details a bit off as watched this a long time ago.

    13. I’m hoping the loser organizations are Boeing and NASA because SpaceX rips. SpaceX is what everyone hoped NASA would be

    14. How is spacex a loser org? It’s literally doing the most impressive shit imaginable, over and over again. It’s so advanced that everyone else in the world is at least 10 years behind.

    15. Insanity. NASA should have standardized fittings and such that while the spaceship could be from any manufacturers, the astronaut could (at least in an emergency) not worry about the suit. Thats just increased safety imo.

They are only compatible if you pay for the cross-compatibility subscription. It’s under add-ons drop down menu on the “big bad control panel ™”. You do have to create a user profile for each crew member in the portal and make sure that they have their x.com profiles paired. Oxygen systems currently only support White Males.
