Hey everyone,

I recently changed my state of legal residency to Nevada from Arizona. I am currently stationed in, and own a home in Nevada that will turn into a rental and am PCSing to California very soon, so I wanted to simplify things.

After changing my SOLR, my federal taxes on my LES dropped from approximately $1100 to only $600 on my most recent LES. I have never paid state taxes in AZ while on AD.

Why would this happen? Is this wrong, or am I missing something?

    TIA!

Why would you change you state residency?
While active duty, you don’t have to change the state at all due to being active duty. Doesn’t matter if you buy a house somewhere.
