Hi, I need help figuring out if I accidentally messed up my insurance claim. In May of this year I filed for hail damage on my 2016 Jeep. I got an estimate and it was for roughly 8,000 in damages.

I was able to get my jeep in this last week to get the damages repaired and the repair shop wasn't able to do it all in one day like I had thought.
They are booked out quite a few months, and I have a lot of things coming up in the next few months.

So I called my claims number and told them what was going on and asked if I could close the claim and get a disbursement for the remainder of damages so that way I can have the claim closed and will just schedule the repairs and everything else myself after my life gets less hectic.

Today I received confirmation that the repair shop was paid for the work they did but my estimate has changed from the 8,000 to the amount they paid the collision shop and it shows that my claim is closed.

Do I need to reach back out and see if they are processing the remainder of my disbursement for the damages, or did this all get messed up and they are only covering the damages to the roof only.

(I have never filed a claim with insurance before so I don't know the process at all, any help or advice is greatly appreciated!)

Did I mess up my insurance claim?
