I just got my rideshare insurance policy and it is effective starting at midnight tonight. My insurer told me that i am only covered up until I hit the accept button for a delivery. At this point, I am under DoorDash or Uber insurance until the food is either delivered or the order has been canceled. Does this sound normal? They told me that this is how all insurance companies do it but I wouldn't know. Do I have to now get with Uber and Doordash and purchase insurance from them?

    1. Yes, this is exactly how it is supposed to work. Uber and Doordash have their own policies that drop down to cover their contractors.

Yep, using your car for commercial use increases your risk by being on the road more than you would be otherwise so they don’t cover it.
