USAA or US Auto Loan for Overseas Dealership (military not on military post)

Does anybody know how to purchase a new vehicle from an overseas dealership, with a US loan? I tried USAA and they are saying since it's not a "domestic dealership" they can only send a check. The country I am in does not accept checks… They have an intermediary bank "The Bank of New York Mellon" which only accept wire transfers, but USAA says they cannot do wire transfers, only ACH.

We can't seem to overcome the intricacies of having a US auto loan and figuring out how to buy a new car overseas… I can't believe how difficult this is.

    1. I had to use Service Credit Union because USAA wasn’t allowed to do overseas loans at the time (odd, but that’s what they said).

You might also want to check with your tax office. IDK what country you’re in, but in Germany we can get things tax/VAT free, but it’s a process and buying cars is like the #1 thing they do.
