I am with my 110 PUTx3 ,DTE 28 debit position from Aug 27 .At 28 was about 450 $ of profit before ER. Now @ 100 plus , it was a looser during the day ,though. Lets see what will happen today )

    2. Lesson: pay attention to value metrics like PE ratio and don’t expect a mega cap that’s double the Shiller PE index to gap up without the EPS going up 20% vs. the preceding quarter. It got overheated for a bit, but it’s now trading in a lane near fair value. Wait for volatility to stabilize, then trade the swing rather than earnings.

I got November calls so the only thing that hurt was that I couldn’t get rid of them today but I still got plenty of time. The people who got burnt the hardest are the ones who had calls expiring Aug 30th. Lesson for those folks is dont have calls expiring immediately after earnings. Even if a company outperforms their expected EPS you dont know how the stock is going to move immediately after the fact. It’s a straight up 50-50 gamble. A company can crush earnings and dip immediately after the fact even though the stock price will most likely continue to go up in the long term.
