TLDR: my manual vehicle rolled away and hit another vehicle in a empty parking lot today. Luckily it's all cosmetic. My front bumper and driver headlight will need replaced. Thing is, I'm a car guy so I've previosuly installed a different bumper from a different trim of my car and also OEM projector headlights (vs the halogens that came on my car) from a different trim level on my car, which required me to solder 1 ground and depin and repin the OEM connector. My question is how it will work at the body shop when they look up my vin the headlight and bumper don't match my car? Same model different trim. Even if they were to replace with the Halogens that actually came on the car, they wouldn't plug in because I had to depin the PEM connector.

    Tia.

The more I think about the more I think I can fix it myself other than the paint work.
Is getting an estimate and taking cash still a thing with insurance? The bumper is defintely jacked. But the fog lights are still good and work. The headlight all still works too, just scuffed and gouged. The fender has a small dent but tbh I think PDR would take it out.

    Body shop question.

    1. You need to tell them or they Are just going to order by Vin and you will end up with the wrong parts. Don’t assume they will recognize the differences.
