I had my son on my car insurance policy. He joined the military and got deployed overseas. His address isn’t even in the states anymore. His car was off my policy for about seven months and my insurance company is saying they sent me a letter that they’re going to add my son’s car back on. I didn’t get the letter and now they’re not paying me the $570 they randomly took out of my account. What can I do?!

My insurance company added my son’s car back on my policy without telling me.

Are you sure they didn’t add him as a Driver? Is your son under the age of 25?. Also double check he is not calling the company and adding the insurance on the car.

the military has a home of record address that can be where you lived when you first joined and I bet your home is it

I feel like something is getting lost in translation, were you trying to put son’s car in deep storage due to deployment?.

    4. What happens when he comes home on leave? Is he going to live at your house, or is you going to drive your car?

    5. They added my disabled son to my auto insurance even though he has never driven or had a license. It took me forever to get him off. They change your policy and your rate and then they let you know instead of asking you. I’m sure some people just pay the bill and never look at it. It’s just a way to scam people out of extra money.

    6. I find it funny that so many people say that they were not made aware of something being done. However, companies have to send paperwork in the US mail and I’m wondering how many of these people actually are just throwing the mail away when it comes to insurance paperwork

If his legal address is your home then yes this would make sense because you cannot have a license driver registered to your address without them being on your insurance.

Now military and drivers away at school. There are diffexceptions made and that’s probably being worked on but you will have to prove that he is not in your household.

    8. If your son’s driver’s license still shows your address, you should request the insurance carrier to classify him as a “listed only” resident due to his deployment. The “listed only” designation does not add any premium.

What is your son’s legal address?

Do you live in a state with zero state income tax?

While in the military, your son might legally move to a state with no state income tax.
