So I hadn't really looked at LES in great detail until today unfortunately, I find it draining to have to look at all those numbers, so sadly I hadn't put 2 and 2 together until buddy and me started talking. Basically I been in 6-7 months (1st term) and barely have $2K in the bank when I assume from the math should at least be $10K. I've spent at most since I've been in $5K. the biggest purchases that come to mind:

    • $800 for gaming pc
    • $300 for plane booking for leave from tech (i didnt take rap ik im an idiot)
    • $1k-$1.8k sent to mom she needed for bills + my own phone and other bills so she can pay for them in my stead (dad job dont pay great)
    • $300-400 for various things on brokerages to do passive investing
    • necessities

I'm sure there's others I'm forgetting but those are the major that come to mind.

Also, looking for the best hands down broker + savings:

    my accounts right now:

    maybe don't remember for sure:

    Am I getting underpaid?

    1. I need to look at your bank account and see where your money actually went. Do you ever get cash and spend it? It’s very common for people not to realize how much they are spending on snacks, food, entertainment, subscription services, clothes, haircuts, etc.

Why do you think you might be getting underpaid? Is your base pay on your LES less than what it should be for your rank and time in service?

What are your financial goals? It looks like you have a bunch of accounts, but you probably don’t need that many. There isn’t one best broker. Anything that offers the services you need and has low fees is fine. What company you want will depend on what type of account you need.

Also, if you’re saying you should have taken RAP so that the military would have paid for your ticket, don’t worry about it. You would have paid for your own travel anyway.
