This may not be the right Sub but anyway. My Wife and I have the chance to move to the US (NY state), my wife works in HR and it's her job that may be moving us. I've worked in insurance for the last 20 years and dealt with most types of insurance.
Would my experience be transferable to the US working?

Probably, depending on what branch u are in underwriting , sales, actuarial. You will need to get us certifications for some things. But there are plenty if insurance companies around that offer remote work, Hartford CT is/was the insurance capital of the world.
