My wife is in the navy and we may be deployed abroad next year, let’s say in Guam. Currently we are in California and residents of California. I work remote, but pay state taxes in California as I live here and am a resident.

If we are stationed in Guam, am I’m working remote while in Guam, do I still need to pay state taxes to California?

If so….should I just move to Las Vegas in January for a few months to get residency there before we get deployed? It seems insane I’d pay that much in state tax while abroad, and likely our next assignment after Guam wouldn’t be in California anyway…we don’t plan on coming back to CA regardless.
