Lemonade just informed us because we have a flat roof, they will no longer be able to insure our home. We’ve had them for years now and as we all know, there’s little worse than shopping for insurance. I liked that they donated the extra money at the end of the year.

Who compares? Looking for something as similar as possible. TIA

You’re lucky you never had a claim with them, from what I’ve heard. Anyway, try independent brokers. Property insurance is a mess right now.

Not sure if it’s an option in your state, but at my independent agency the only carrier who will write a flat roof is Foremost.

    3. Flat roof is going to be tough. How old is the building? When was the last time the roof was redone or resurfaced?

I’ve ran into issues with carriers not accepting resurfacing/new layer of asphalt and most standard market carriers only want roofs 15 years or newer. The market is awful.

    4. I’ve used Foremost, State Farm, and Mercury. But I live in AZ where flat roofs are super common and we don’t have snow.
