As the title suggests, I'm 17 and have no idea how to start. I don't want a traditional job and I'd very much like to be my own boss. However, I'm not sure what I can do in my current state. I think I need parental consent for almost anything I could try. Should I wait until I'm 18?

P.S I’m sorry if this is a typical annoying post and just wasted your time
Find something you are interested in and see what or how you can implement yourself into the situation and profit from it.
Best thing you can do is learn skills that you can sell as services, it doesn’t have to be original you just have to be willing to work harder/smarter than the other people in your respective industry/area
i do door to door at the moment, it’s not sunshine and rainbows, however from what you said this seems alright for you.
In door to door you are your own boss and your earnings is 90% the result of your personal effort, ethic and skill.
The pay might be commision only but I would search around
See if there’s an event like Startup Weekend near you. Jump in and have a go, you’ll learn lots.

Are you interested in commission-only sales? I hear it’s great for learning sales. Which country are you in? If you’re in a developed country, you have a strong chance of making your dream a reality.
