Thanks in advance for your help. We have excellent homeowners coverage and pay handsomely for it. A burst pipe created water and mold damage and a mitigation team was hired, approved, and paid in full by my insurance. We've received the repair estimate for rebuild from the insurance company. However, when it comes to payout, they have reduced the repair estimate by deducting all the mitigation payments from the estimate. For example, the packout invoice is being deducted from my repair/rebuild estimate even though it's not included in the estimate. Can anyone help me understand this and does this sound right? Thank you!

can homeowners deduct payments they’ve made to the mitigation company from my rebuild estimate?
