Death during MetLife short term disability

My wife was put on short disability by her employer in July. In August her cancer went dramatically downhill during chemo and she passed away. She received one disability check while alive but is continuing to receive them weekly and is scheduled to until November 8.

I’ve contacted her employer with this question but they haven’t gotten back to me. MetLife also just payed put on life insurance to me, so I would think they’d have provisions in place for this circumstance.

Shout I deposit the checks or hold on to them? I reside in California.
