I’m wondering if anyone knows who is at fault in this scenario. My high school aged daughter was in a parking lot and reversed in an aisle after she passed an open spot several spots back. As she was reversing, another student backed out of her parking spot and hit my daughter’s car just behind the rear tire on the passenger side. The other girl had some damage to her rear bumper (scratches); my daughter has a dent on the spot behind the tire. Would this be 50/50 fault? Thanks in advance!

Both were moving. Yep 50/50
50/50 fault.
But would reversing mean she was going against traffic? So I’m not sure it’s 50/50.
I would go 0/100 your daughter had control of the aisle way, the person exiting the parking space had a greater duty to maintain a proper lookout.
Both reversing, both at fault 50/50
might depend on the state. in a parking lot in some states, that’s private property and no one is actually cited
