I'm currently a teenager, was turning left on a green turn signal in a 4 way intersection. A car hits me while I am almost out of the intersection, damaging the front right side of the car. I don't have a dashcam on the car that was damaged so I don't know what to do to prove my innocence. Two witnesses on the other side of the intersection state that the light wasn't on a green turn signal, but they weren't in the same direction to actually see what the turn signal was on.. I really don't want to get a traffic ticket for the accident and feel like I shouldn't be punished for something I did not cause, and I know people won't believe me because of my age and will believe I caused the accident. Only one person believes me (who was also in the car with me) who states that it was on a green turn signal. I've never actually been in a accident before but I am driving on a provisional license with restrictions for drivers under 18 years old, so I don't really know what to do as I have to go to court and don't know how to prove my innocence/get insurance to pay for damages.

What should I do? Who is at fault??

    1. Even if the witnesses were on the opposite side they would know if your light was green based on their own lights. This is going to be he said she said and it could likely result in shared liability.

Always get a police report. Regardless if your insurance thinks otherwise crash reports show proof based on what the report says and who was cited. (For future reference)
