    1. I was working as a physio in football and saw a product being used more and more… thought I’d buy a few in bulk to sell… they sold out within a month!

That was 4 years ago… still going strong 😅

    2. I was 19years old. Left my job cause it sucked. Had 20k to invest or go to college. My brother who is a Entrepreneur told me to invest it and become also one. I said alright fuck it and risk it. Risked all my money and it was worth it. Been 4 years now…

Started because I saw an opportunity. Made a plan. Starting is hard as there is lots and lots to planning to do and getting feedback is important. – Startup in the sales industry.

At 28 I had a mentor offer to partner on a business that was grossing around 600k. I jumped at the opportunity. He wanted me to manage it onsite, but my wife, a physician had already signed to another town. He walked away from the deal. I bought the business, owner financed. Changed my life dramatically. Bought another one the next year.

An older financial advisor offered to give me a quarter million if I partnered with him on another business, so I was able to get bank financing for the first time and buy real estate. I then bought one to three new acquisitions a year over the next decade. I also started a number of construction companies to pretty great success, bought a lot of commercial real estate and land. I just hit year 11 and gross between 20 and 30 million annually.

I’ve started to separate from a number of partnerships as the relationships fizzle out or my partners’ needs change. I exited most of my construction companies but I’m still going strong. I very much look forward to more rate decreases from the feds.

    5. Always wanted to be an entrepreneur as I come from a family of entrepreneurs and liked the freedom and creativity that comes with it.

Worked for PWC in consulting after my masters for two years in BI/IT consulting. Felt like I was way better than most other more senior consultants and thought I have nothing to lose.

Started out as a freelance consultant working as project lead for IT projects. I was different than most other consultants who either knew IT OR business. I understood both so I worked with programmers and could tell them what the client wants and vice versa. It was a skill that was highly thought after.

After two years of freelancing a friend joined me. We started VISUS ADVISORY which is now a German based boutique consulting firm with 15 people. We now do Data strategy , AI consulting and development as well as SAP consulting. We only hire people that know both business as well as IT and have at least 3 years of experience (so no juniors).

First years were rough, constant fear of not getting that next project. Then COVID hit, then Ukraine war, energy crisis in Germany etc. But after a few years you learn to deal with the uncertainty.

Id never go back. No more Sunday blues but instead I can’t wait to go back to work. Even in my free time I build prototypes in python which we then present to clients.
