Earlier this week, I was in my first-ever car accident. The roads were very slick after a heavy rain, and the car in front of me stopped at a yellow light. I applied my brakes, but my vehicle slid and I didn’t stop in time.
My vehicle doesn’t have good ABS, and even though I was more than three car lengths away, I still bumped into them. My car is fine, with just a slightly bent license plate and a scratch on my bumper that you can’t notice unless you look hard, but their rear end has a dent. Thankfully, neither of us is injured.
I’m expecting a call tomorrow. Is there anything I should say or avoid saying? I’m new to this, and it’s been stressing me out.
What to say to my insurance adjuster for car accident statement.

Seems like you said it all here and by the way a ABS system does not save you when you’ve already made a bad decision and unfortunately it sounds like you made a bad decision in your driving
What you said here. You rear ended another car. It’s a okay.
Just read the first two paragraphs in your post to your adjuster.
You state the facts and tell them exactly what happened.
They just want to know what happened. Anytime you rear end someone you are most likely at fault. It’s all good and no one was injured fortunately.
I am going through something way more minor than you right now and the guy is claiming he’s injured! Lol
You tell them the truth
You tell the truth.
