I’ve had so many highs & low-lows, building a business is such a process that during your cycles of life, your cycle of building a business are going to intersect.

The work doesn’t stop once you are established either, sometimes you have to man up and deal with it and go through the motions, other times you will be on top of the world and riding high.

It is definitely possible, take baby steps at momentum each day and trust the process!

      You can do it

    2. It’s definitely possible to build a successful business while dealing with depression, but it’s going to be a lot harder. Depression can drain your energy, motivation, and focus, which are all key to running a business. That said, many people have done it. It requires a lot of self-awareness and finding ways to manage your mental health along the way.

Prioritizing your well-being and seeking support, whether through therapy, medication, or a strong support system, can make a huge difference. Success doesn’t have to happen at the expense of your mental health!!! It’s important to take care of yourself first so you have the energy and clarity to keep moving forward.

    3. It’s possible, but it requires tremendous discipline to continue to press on when the load your dragging is heavy; discipline to continue moving forward regardless if you’re happy or sad, inspired or demoralized.

That being said, mental health is important. Just like driving tired, you may not be making rational decisions if the depression is truly deep or chemically imbalanced.

I have been depressed for 20 years running a business lol. I always feel I’m not doing enough . My true frustration is from how many times I have come close to huge deals and they blow up either because they won’t spend the money or my inferior shit competition gets it. But I just keep going and going. That’s all I know.

True story I tried antidepressants once and it made me happier but it took away my edge and that fire inside. So I stopped taking them. My wife says I prefer to be miserable.

    5. Yes

Discipline is what gets you up every day, not motivation. Make a powerlist of 5 action item you must do each day to move forward and do them.

Do all 5, and you’re done for the day. Win the day.

Don’t do all five and lose the day.

Win enough days you win the week, months, years, decades….

Lose too many, and you lose the week, months , and decades.

This also give you a written record by date that you can reference over the months, quarters, years and when you miss a goal or are not getting the results you planned for, you can figure out where you went wrong and fix it.

Building a business at any level is a kick in the crotch every day. I run a pretty successful business, and even today….heck this week….I’m taking hits that have me reeling and unsure about each decision. Very easily, it could lead to depression, but I make my list and work it through. I just won today about 15 minutes ago, and I’m going to go lick my wounds for a bit. Tomorrow is a new day.

    6. I saw a post somewhere on reddit about a guy asking for good dentist recommendations,

He lost all his teeth due to his meth addiction, he continued meth usage whilst building his business and sold his business successfully.

It was a reminder to me that in order to succeed in business, you need to do the correct inputs to have the correct outputs. If you do those, you can do whatever else you want.

Obvs meth and depression does not make it easier, but if your actions remain the same, that’s all that matters

Bipolar here. Yes it’s possible. Hard? Absolutely!
But all business is hard for one reason or another.

    8. It is. It’s easier to help others than it is to help yourself. Sometimes, you actually feel alive enough to desire another day.

You’ll assuredly find your answers and yourself. Have limited expectations & keep trudging on.
