    1. That’s more than most experts predicted. Many were saying no jail time at all, or time served. The judge praised her for extraordinary level of cooperation, and she was instrumental in FTX recovering all the money.  But she could have blown the whistle at any time but instead chose to commit fraud. You can’t cooperate your way out of crime, at least not entirely.

I think SBF was by far the bigger criminal and absolutely influenced her to do what she did, but she still could have walked away whenever she wanted.

    2. So steal $12b and spend 24 months in a women’s prison? I feel like I’d trade two years chained heat style to likely get released in time for Halloween 2026 (and probably have a few hundred million bucks worth of BTC squirreled away on a cold wallet someplace to cheer myself up once free)

      >Former cryptocurrency executive Caroline Ellison was sentenced on Tuesday to two years in prison for her role in her former boyfriend Sam Bankman-Fried’s theft of $8 billion in customer funds from the now-bankrupt FTX exchange he founded, even as the judge recognized her extensive cooperation with prosecutors.

      Only two years?

She must have put her beauty to good use.

    4. Less than my buddy got when pulled over with a ziplock with 10g weed (prolly misty stems and seeds given our socioeconomic status at the time).
