Hit by driver who ran red light

So about 8 months ago I was hit by a driver who ran a red light. They did not have insurance and I suffered lower back pain from the accident. I went to ER initially and did about 12 sessions of physical therapy. Since they did not have insurance I am currently going through my insurance for pain suffering who offer up to 15 K for pain and suffering. It’s been a long process and I’m waiting on an offer from them. Has anyone gone through this?
