Hello Reddit I’ve seen a few old posts about similar issues but I’ve been trying to regain access to my Dogecoin core wallet for a few years now.

I am on the current newest version 1.14.8 and I continue to get the message “connecting to peers.” In the bottom right it shows I have “8 active connections to the Dogecoin network” I have left it running overnight several times but it never makes any progress. The debug log shows “Error: invalid header received” and “failed peer=(a number)”

I don’t think this has anything to do with my firewall because I did have it work in the past. If anyone has similar issues or possibly an answer to this problem please share. I fear I’ll never be able to access my Dogecoin at this point. Please help me save my dogo money.

    1. You don’t need to do this. At all. Never did in the first place.

Go into the console and use the DUMPWALLET command.

And read what I just wrote a couple of comments ago. You really have no need whatsoever to be wasting resources on a client.
