My IRA broker (SOFI/Apex Clearing) is closing my Roth IRA account because I'm stationed overseas. My account will be distributed unless I transfer it to another broker. So far, I have not been able to setup an account with other brokers (vanguard) without a physical US address "in which I reside"

Short of using an old/family/fictional address, are there any protections that allow for IRA contributions while serving overseas? Like an IRA-equivalent SCRA, etc.

I've been overseas for about three years with another projected overseas assignment.

I've contacted customer support to inform them of my situation and to ask what options if have. They're looking into it. Until then, i'd appreciate any guidance from you all!

IRA account will close/distribute because I don't reside in the states (stationed overseas)

I set up a vanguard while stationed overseas, maybe you need to put an address for your state of legal residence.

    2. I tried Fidelity, was a pain in the ass and couldnt ever open it (2FA issues w/ a foreign phone number while being stationed overseas)..

I already had an normal brokerage account w/ TD Ameritrade before they switched to Schwab, so I opened the IRA through Schwab and have been good ever since. No issues or complaints.
