My home of record is for the state of Missouri which I have recently discovered does not take state tax for active duty military. Yet I have been paying state taxes for almost 4 years now. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Missouri collects state tax throughout the year and makes you file as a nonresident during tax returns to get it all refunded.

Save that for your records on everything Missouri state related while you’re in.
You would file amendments for your MO tax returns. Generally speaking, you can only amend 3 years of taxes – so years earlier than that are likely lost.
