Tesla fired it's CIO (news report says he left, but friends inside told me he was fired) – was in position since 2018, and with company since 2012.
The timing seems to suggest it has something to do with robotaxi event, otherwise you don't change exec leadership just before launch.

CIO is unlikely to have anything to do with robotaxi. With that said, robotaxi is a giant scam.
I mean, you have to be extremely gullible to think that Robotaxis will be revealed after they were postponed last time.
All Tesla has done in the last couple years is postpone/cancel shit, and farm recalls on practically every component of the cybertruck.
If I was gonna make something up about this it would be :

Doubtful, it was prob just a tweet to pump the stock. That 8/8 dogwhistle date was Elon having a laugh. Robotaxi is likely years away and regulatory approval at scale will be a long shot.

Based off all the videos that have been popping up of FSD this past week the demo of the robotaxi is going to go like this:
Car changes lane to pass another and clips the rear corner, jumps across lanes to get to left turn lane, blows through red light, turns left and ends up going the wrong way driving into oncoming traffic, pulls into roundabout driving the wrong way through it, drives head on into school bus that has the lights flashing and Stop arm out.
Nah… my money is on it was over the datacenter stuff and graphics card transfers from Tesla to xAI. I would put a $ on he said you can’t send data and hardware to xAI without disclosing it and Musk said I can get a new CIO…
