Sorry if this isn't the right place and maybe you all can guide me in the right direction.

I wanted to know if this scenario was ethical/legal or even really a possibility so let me outline it for you.

Business A provides an IT Help Desk service to business B.

CEO of Business A joins Board of Directors of Business B.

To me that seems like a really big conflict of interest but wanted to get input. Google has not been the most forthcoming on I do but I could be looking up the wrong terms.

Oh wow, nothing like mixing business with a little drama! A CEO providing services *and* sitting on the board? That’s some multitasking at an Olympic level. 🥇 Sure, it sounds like a huge conflict of interest, but who’s counting? I mean, what could possibly go wrong when the guy getting paid also gets to decide who gets paid? 🙃

In all seriousness, you’re right to feel a little uneasy. Even if it’s technically legal with the right disclosures, it’s definitely walking a tightrope between “strategic partnership” and “ethically questionable nightmare.” Maybe see if someone on the board reads the *”Conflict of Interest Policies for Dummies”* book. Just saying
